Rodeo Time

It's Rodeo time here in Houston and we've had a great time getting in the spirit!

Rodeo Roundup at Wee School

Here's Graham and his classmate Owen with the paper versions of themselves.  Graham worked on it for about 2 minutes.  Then Mom and Dad had a lot of fun with his first "school" take home project.  It was interesting being on the other side after all the years the two of us have sent home projects with our students.

Running with the homemade "horse" Daddy made for Rodeo relays.
Enjoying the Wee School Rodeo picnic lunch.
Wow!  That's a good hot dog!

Little Brother had fun too!
Graham "shared" his juice box with Sean.
Sean got to sit on a pony for the first time.  Graham decided he didn't want to sit on the pony and had his picture taken sitting on a square bale by the horse.  Sorry, I don't have a picture of Graham and the pony because it was taken by the Wee School staff and we haven't received our copies yet.

The Real Deal:  Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo!!
Visiting with my brother Frank and checking out the steers at the commercial steer show.  Frank was an ag teacher for many years and has continued to volunteer at the Livestock Show every year.  Graham kept saying "I want to see Uncle Frank" all the way from Tomball to the rodeo!

Graham checking out the steers.
Riding the "tram" to the arena for more fun.  We were so glad that there were lots of fun things for the kids to see and do inside the arena.  It was a cold and wet day.
Graham's first pony ride!  He was a natural!

Sean loves animals and loved getting to see and touch so many!
Watching the chicks hatch!

Waiting for the pig races to begin.
Driving a John Deere just like my Grandpa and my uncles.

We were all so tired when it was time to leave but it was totally worth it!  What a fun day!
